Help I need advice
Getting a third opinion may be a good idea especially for ease of mind.
Unfortunately, to definitively diagnose ovarian cancer, hysterectomy is need. The organs are removed and a frozen section is done. This means that they are looked at by pathology while you are still in surgery. If anything is found to be cancer, lymph nodes are then biopsied as well as other areas in your pelvic region. If this is cancer, it is best to remove as much as possible in surgery and get the proper staging (finding everywhere it may be) and this gives you better chances with further treatment.
Since they both feel it might be cancer, although chances are low, wouldn't you want to know for sure and be given the best chances for long term survival. I know I did.
This is a scarey time. It is good you are asking questions.
