1 week to go
Happy New Year to me...I'll be celebrating the start of 2004 in the castle. My castle date is one week from today, 12/30/03.
I have been rather calm, but all of a sudden, I am becoming a bit anxious. I know this is probably normal, but I'm still feeling antsy. There seems to be so much to do in so little time. I'm still working...and will be up until the day before.
So glad to have found this site. You have all been so informative and helpful.
Thanks! and ...Happy Holidays...!!!

Me, too! (Only my dates a couple days after yours.)
Last night I even dreamed about a pre surgery "Chain gang". We marched to surgery chained together and the marched out after. The more we marched the more our tummies started to ache. I don't know if that was a result of taco salad or reading the thread about how to get out of bed after surgery.

1 week to go
Hi,
I was anxious before my surgery as well and glad I worked up to the day. It helps to keep busy to keep mind occupied. I also spent time getting things ready for the recovery time and picking up things at the store that I might need while I was laid up.
I hope the wait is not bad for you, and you have a wonderful holiday.

1 week to go
I know its only a week, but I wish I could do the "Jeannie" thing and blink the date here so I wouldn't have to wait ....
I'm trying to keep busy gathering up the things I'll need post-op. My friends and family are extremely supportive and are working out a "shift" duty to be with me - I'm single and live alone.
I still have lots to do, but I seem to think I can continue to procrastinate! Like I have all the time in the world....then I think about the Christmas Holidays and the time I'll lose... All of a sudden its like I'm having my surgery tomorrow and there's no time to do everything....
I know I sound like a loony, but my thoughts are all over the place...just like my hormones!!
Thanks for being there for me!!

dec 30th. too!
Tanya,
We share the same surgery date, and i agree with you-i'm getting nervous. Having weird dreams, don't know how I'll get Christmas done, and all the housecleaning I wanted to do before my castle date. Yikes!
I'm single, too, and hoping I will be able "to do it all" by myself, but I have my sister handy when I completely lose it and need her here. My shrink tells me I always underestimate how much my family and friends love me and want to help out. Here's hoping that's true!
I had my last visit from "Aunt Flo" last week, and 'tho I'm happy, it feels kinda freaky to know, that's it--no more Aunt Flo!
I will be thinking of you and hoping we both have easy surgeries and recoveries. I won't know 'til I get there if I will have a LAVH or TAH, so I don't know if I'll be home the next day or spending New Years Day at the castle.
Good luck "letting go", and only getting done what you get done!!!

1 week to go
I have not been obsessing about this date, My other date was 12/4 and I was big time obsessing, but I got the flu two days before and had to reschedule, so this time i have not thought much about it, Maybe it's because Christmas is here and I have been busy with that and with a time crunch at work, I cant believe my date is just a little over a week, next week when things calm down, is when it will probably hit me!
Good luck to all of you!
Not much longer to wait now

1 week to go
Part of my anxiety is that I have never spent a night in the hospital. I'm not sure what to expect. I know that the day of my surgery, I probably won't be very aware of anything, but that only makes me more anxious....I like to know what's going on around me.
I've had 2 d&c's in the past year but they were, of course, out patient. And they were fairly pleasant, painless experiences.
I will be glad, however, to finally stop bleeding and having to wear plugs and pads! I've had a steady stream since July.... I could own stock in OB and Always! I keep trying to make myself see the positives, but as hard as it is to admit it....I'm scared! I didn't think I would be but I am. All I can do is ask for prayers and blessings!
I've been an absolute witch to some people whenever I thought they might be passing on any germs which would delay my procedure. I hope they understand. So, fullofhope, I totally understand how you must have been so frustrated.
Thanks again....junie_seven, I'll be thinking of you!
I'll keep you all in my prayers!

Dear fullofhope (I love your name)
We share a date! I know that we will probably not be feeling to up to prayer and good thoughts that day - but I'll be praying for you this next week.

How I agree with all of you. My date is Jan 5 and had my pre-op yesterday which was nothing but got a little anxious as I was heading there. Which made me think what kind of shape I'll be in the morning of surgery as I'm heading to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Really trying to concentrate on the holidays which will be in full swing from tomorrow thru at least Sun or Mon. Then I'll have a whole week to "stew".
Finally hit the wall from all my "nesting" and don't have the desire to do another thing. Start getting butterflies thinking how little time I have left.
Hope the time will fly by and we can be home and well on our way to recovery. I'll be praying for you all. Happy Holidays!!!
