Thick uterus lining-what next?

Hello everyone!

I have posted a few times regarding the problems I have been having after my Novasure back in February.

I called my doctor yesterday, as I have been running about a 100 degree temp for the last several days. I was able to get in to see one of the nurse practioners who did an ultrasound. During the ultrasound (which hurt due to having an infection-hence the temp!) she said my lining of my uterus was measuring 17mm thick. I started in this whole adventure a couple years ago when an ultrasound showed I had a 19mm thick lining. So.....after having EA, why would this still be so thick? I was also told, for the first time ever, that I have a few fibroids that are small. Obviously, having the thicker lining would be why I am still having bouts of horrid cramps and bleeding, but what is next? Anyone else experience this? If so, what happened? I am ready to just beg for a hysterectomy and end all this! Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Re: Thick uterus lining-what next?

Hi Samward

Sounds like you are really suffering. What advice did the NP give you after seeing your u/s? Do you have a follow-up appt with the GYN?

Any major medical decision deserves another professional opinion or 2, so perhaps now is a good time to set those up. If your own doctor doesn't provide an option that is acceptable to you, perhaps another one will.

My EA failed also, but I do not regret it in the least. Only when it failed was I sure that the hyst was necessary. When it was clear that it didn't work, I was not left to suffer. I did have to wait a while due to my GYN being out of town and very booked, but I used that time to get my second opinion.

I hope you find answers soon and the relief you deserve to make you feel better.
Beth
