No sensation to urinate
Hi all, I'm 1 week post op and have zero sensation when it's time to pee. I have started hitting the bathroom every 2-3 hours and I'm always able to go but my body just doesn alert me anymore. Its kinda nice as before surgery I was always in the restroom. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: No sensation to urinate
My Gyn said this normal. That when our bladder was full when we has a uterus, it would press against the uterus giving us that full sensation we are used too. I think we just have to get used to the new feeling, but I think it's normal.

Re: No sensation to urinate
I've had the same experience. My bladder doesn't feel full until it is really full. Then it doesn't feel uncomfortable like it used to. There is no in-between sensation. I can't tell if it is half full. I just make sure I go to the restroom before doing other activities to be on the safe side.

Re: No sensation to urinate
That happened to me for the 1st week+. I had no regular urge to pee, I felt abdominal pressure instead. Of course by the time I felt the pressure, that meant I'd needed to go for a while! I'm 2 weeks today and it's been gone for at least a few days.

Re: No sensation to urinate
My nurse told me you have to retrain your bladder after surgery..sooo much trauma to your body...lots of swelling...it took a month or more for me to feel norm again when I had a full bladder..lots of luck to all!

Re: No sensation to urinate
I had the same experience...but now I have normal sensations to go.
I also went by the clock, it was so strange to not feel like I needed to pee then really have a full bladder when I did go. what I did feel was pressure on my lower belly and discomfort...I finally have normalized...I have to say my sensation is stronger when I am standing. If I am sitting and feel like I need to go, I really need to go! I wonder if I have more room in there now that the parts are missing..hmmm...

It's nice to read this. I have definitely gone through the exact same thing.
