Will the night cold sweats end??

I am 2 weeks post op and about a week ago I started having night sweats. It is miserable. I wake up soaking wet but I'm freezing! Has anyone experienced this?

Re: Will the night cold sweats end??

Erinrae,
Your profile doesn't say whether you kept one or both ovaries. If you had your ovaries removed, you most likely are having symptoms of surgical menopause. If you kept one or both ovaries, it can take some time for them to wake up and start functioning again. Either way, you can talk to your doctor about the possibility of going on some form of HRT even if temporarily. Good luck.

Erinrae-

If you kept one or both of your ovaries, the night sweats will subside in a few weeks. I had TLH and kept both ovaries, but would wake up drenched and shivering. At my two week post op, she said that my hormones are out of whack and that once they settle down, the night sweats would disappear. She was right; I'm on my 3rd week and I haven't had any night sweats. Of course, if you removed your ovaries, you're experiencing menopause (from what I understand). Take cars

I kept both ovaries. Thank you for the advise. I am hoping they will subside. It is no fun at all. I put a towel and extra sheet on top of my sheets and changed them twice.
