Will I be able to travel 10 weeks after TAH?

I'm scheduled to attend a conference in Boston 10 weeks after my hysterectomy. I plan to fly to Boston (only an hour flight), attend the 3 day conference, then vacation 3 more days before returning home. How do women ususally feel around 10 weeks post-op? I'm thinking of changing my surgery date to accomodate the conference. Any recommendations?

I dont think you'll have any problems traveling that far down the road. I drove at 3 weeks and now at almost 5 wks am feeling pretty normal. 6 wks is when most say you can resume most activities. You should be fine at 10 weeks.

You should be fine. Even with complications, I would have been able to accommodate travel. Just remember to PACK LIGHT or have someone else deal with your bags. You will still be on a slight weight restriction

Clear it with your doctor. The flying -cabin pressure- is what I think you need to check with him/her about.
I think you probably could go.

Hi maxand kel,

I don't think it should be a problem for you either. I was 10 weeks post op when we had to drive 9 hours to my FIL's funeral and turn around and drive 9 hours back the next day. I was a bit sore from all the sitting but that was bound to happen anyway. Check with your doctor but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Take care...........Karen
