New and have a question on hair loss...
Hi all - I wasn't sure where to post this as I don't have a surgery date pending, I did, but I had the endo/adhesions removed first in lieu of the hyster for the moment. (Yes, I chickened out..)
My question is this...I was wondering if any of you have suffered hair loss or thinning as a result of the the disease and or it's complications (bleeding, adhesions, etc.).
Now that I know what has been going on with me all these years I seem to notice a connection between the time that symptoms became really bad and the beginning of hair loss. I also noticed that I started getting shingles and cold sores a lot around that time.
I go for my follow up on Tuesday and I have a feeling that we are going to find out that I have the endo in the uterus too, (I can't remember the name of the ailment). Now that I'm feeling better, I'm noticing a definite fullness and razor like pains in the mid pelvic region....
Thanks for your help, it felt good to talk about it to someone that understands,,,everyone around here is tired of hearing about it and most don't understand what a nightmare it really can be!

New and have a question on hair loss...
Hi
Welcome to HysterSisters! There is tons of info, advice, support, and s when you need them.
Hair loss: this can be caused by a lot of different things: hormones, anemia, sickness, stress. So yes, it could be due to the endo and its symptoms.
Cold sores and shingles: any time your body's immune system is at all compromised it makes it easier for illness. And stress and anemia do tend to have an effect on your immune system. So yes, it's entirely possible that it's because of one that you are having more of the other. (I hope that made sense)
Best wishes!
