3 weeks after radical with devinci

I'm about 3 weeks into recovery after a radical hysterectomy and lymph node removal with the devinci method. -- Tenderness in lower abdomin and that burning type sensation or wierd tickle/pain feeling especially after I have been walking for a bit. Learning to rest with legs up. Still have numbness in thigh area mostly the right side. My groin area feels like I have been wearing panties that are really really tight. I don't think I will be back to work for a while as I have a heavy job. I can't even imagine trying it without feeling I'd be ripping something apart. I still think I'm doing pretty good though considering all they take out.

Re: 3 weeks after radical with devinci

Please keep a diary and list the physical ailments that you have and the dates.
When you go to see your doctor, let them know what your problems have been.
I had nerve irritation after my davinci hysterectomy.
My inner thighs were very weak and "wobbly." I stumbled when I would try to get out of bed after a night's sleep.
This also happened after longer car and plane rides.

I was fine during the day, so I exercised.
The rapid walking and slow running made it worse, in retrospect.

I finally backed off on the running and slowed down my walking.
I also tried swimming. This has been better, and my inner thigh weakness has improved.

I now am going to try some physical therapy.
I also have had problems with my stools. They come out in threads and I am constipated. This has been going on for about a year.
I have had a slight burning sensation on my lower back.

At first, the doctor would not admit that there was a problem, until I insisted that this came after my surgery and that I needed care.

He then asked me if I wanted a specialist. I said, "yes!"

I now have a neurologist and a gastroenterologist.

I do have to say that while this all started after the hysterectomy, I made it worse myself with the daily exercise.

Also, you never know if something else is wrong. Back problems, MS, diabetes, colon cancer could be causing some of these symptoms (for me).

The important thing is to get the proper health care quickly.

You have had a complicated surgery with the lymph removal.
Sometimes, the nerves take time to repair themselves. Other times, we have to live with the outcome.

The neuro said that surgery to correct my problems were too risky.
I now take Neurontin for the lower back nerve sensation.

Good Luck.
