3 Weeks Tomorrow and I'm doing wonderful... I had a Super-cervical Laprascopic Hysterectomy. I had 1 polyp and a 2 inch Fibroid and my uterus lining was 19.9. I had 2 week long periods and they were very painful. I was in my second year of pre menopause. I had Surgery on Nov 18th and it went good. They found out the polyp was a fibroid and they found a additional fibroid during surgery so a total of 3, I was able to kept my ovaries. I had a tough 1st week stuck in a chair and had to have someone help me to get up to go to the bathroom. (FRUSTRATING!!) I also had now shoulder pain from the gas at all, luck I know. Week two went better and I was able to get up on my own, but it was slow. Week 3 I have no pain (unless I over due it lifting) and I can say I am at 95% wonderful. I had NO BLEEDING AT ALL after my Hysterectomy, that was very nice. My incisions are healed and look great. I have an all clear from the Dr to get back to my normal routine. I am so glad I went through with the surgery!!!
I again thank Everyone who posted on HysterSister... The suggestions from those that had been through the surgery already. It helped more than you know. I have already told a few Friends about this website that are scheduled to have a Hysterectomy.
I am now able to think about my Cruise on Jan 5th with out having to dread having my visitor to wreck my vacation.
Good Luck to all of those who have their Hysterectomy's coming up. Remember that everyone has a different experience. Bring a pillow to leave in the car for the trip home. It helps with the bumps. (Minnesota in the winter has LOTS!!) The livingroom recliner is your best Friend for the first week. Ice packs, have at least 3-5. They take a little bit to get cold. Walk as much as you can for the gas pain after and it helps speed up the healing process. Even when you start to feel better, listen to everyone. Take it easy and listen to your body and rest, overdoing it does make the recovery process go back a few steps.
