Hysterectomy bumped up to Monday 1/25!

So, my surgery is now scheduled for this coming Monday. My anxiety level went from basement floor to the Penthouse!! I thought I would have a few weeks to prepare and now I have just a few days. WOW!! Just a bit freaked out. Any good words of advice to calm someone down???

Try to relax - everything will be fine.

Spend some time preparing your home for your recovery, stock up on groceries etc.

Do something nice for yourself - have a facial, meet friends for lunch etc.

You'll be back home before you know it!

I'm on the opposite end. I've been waiting since November and my surgery is February 26. I kept asking for earlier date just so I wouldn't have to be thinking about it all the time.

I have anxiety and panic attacks and know easy a trigger just take over. I would recommend limiting your caffeine, take nice, long walks, watching what you eat, and if you're really anxious splash some cold water on your face. My favorite way to clam is to listen to meditation.

Great advice! I am also right there with you...given a surgery date almost 3 months out from the time it was determined that a hyst is the best possible solution. This waiting is SO nerve-wracking.

Desilu I see your surgery is also in February. Yes it is nerve-wracking. For me it is really hard at night with thoughts racing.

It's really helpful to know so many women are going through this!

Take a deep breath and even if you're too nervous to sleep much, listen to music or favorite movies just to reduce your stress level.
