Re: swelly belly

My swelly belly is so bad that I will have to get new clothes. Actually had to go shopping for maternity clothes (another whole post on that one). I figured they would be my best option becasue I work in a corporate office and can not wear sweats. I have lost close to 15 pounds since my surgery but I look like I am gestating sextuplets!

I am going to try the ice trick to see if that works.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Yea, give the ice a try! And, I know sitting up all day does not help the swelly belly either. If there's any possible way you can lean back and maybe prop your legs back at your desk, that may help. I even put my keyboard on my lap. The Partners at my company gave me a look once and I told them it was this or I was headed home to be in my lay-z-boy. They'd rather NOT do my work for me anymore! So, I sit how I need to sit!

Good luck and I'm sorry you have to buy new clothes!

Re: swelly belly

I think I'll try the ice after exercise as well. I had thought I'd try to workout late in the day so I wouldn't be as swollen at work, but that never happens...too worn out by the end of the day. I'll start early again and try icing after...

Re: swelly belly

SOS,

I'm taking you advice on how to sit at the office!! I'm working from home today (back on my recovery sofa -- kindof missed it!) and my belly is much less swollen today. Also worked out today and iced it for about 30 minutes after - so hopefully that helped, too.

This swelly belly is frustrating, though. I was so sick of being bloated and swollen due to the growing fibroids and so excited to see how much my belly went back to normal a week or so after surgery. 3-4 more months of this (or more??") is a pain! Glad I can vent to other sisters going through it, too!

Re: swelly belly

This is so funny because i was freaking out about mine too I go to Cancun in two weeks and I need to not be swollen. Mine stopped at six weeks but I have noticed if I don't excercise it comes back. My doctor says movement helps the gases from sitting in your stomach and thus less swelling.

Jib, I wonder if that's why mine doesn't seem as big as others are. I exercise some at least 5 days a week, even made it 6 days this past week. At worst, I go up 1 size only by the end of the day and I can handle that.

Ok, now I don't have an excuse NOT to exercise anymore!
