Six Weeks Post-Op

Hi!
My surgery was 07/31/13 and I had a TLH. I had my six week check up yesterday and am healing well. I still have bouts of "swelly belly" and some days are better than others. I'm still very careful about lifting and I still get tired. I had both of my children via cesarean, so I can't say that this is better or worse except that I wish I had it done sooner. I feel 100% better than I did prior to my surgery and know that my quality of life will continue to improve as I heal.
I had taken birth control since I was a teenager and after my 2nd child I had two ablations to attempt to control the bleeding. While I always discussed the bleeding with my OBGYN, I apparently never got across the amount of pain I was having. The decision for surgery was made after an ultrasound showed a fibroid in my uterus and cysts on both ovaries. Once inside, they found a gut full of endometriosis. My surgery took much longer than expected (making my husband nervous), but oddly enough the post op pain while uncomfortable has been more tolerable because I know it is temporary.
Wishing you all well, happy healing and a light at the end of the tunnel!
