abdominal distention

just had a laproscopic hysterectomy 12/28
all went well but i look like i'm 4-5 months pregnant. anyone else had this problem? how long before the gas goes away?

Not sure how long it lasts though...

You have had major surgery and there is bound to be some swelling and fluid build up. I still had some trouble wearing my normal pants when I went back to work at 8 weeks. Sometimes I still have the problem in the evening.

Right after my lavh I looked pregnant also. The swelling went down at about 4 weeks. I do now still have a pouch or a banana on my lower abdomin.It does swell the more I do. But it is nothing like the first few weeks. Get a lot of rest. Happy New Year! Robin

I'm almost two weeks out and the swelling has subsided significantly.
