New here...surgery ahead (endo and fibroids)

Hi, I will be having my hysterectomy on January 21, I have been talking to my OB/GYN since July and finally decided it is time to do this. I am tired of the heavy periods, and cramping all the time. I have endometriosis and uterine fibroids.

The waiting really is worse than post op!

Hi Sewcali,
I agree with Katy above - the anticipation is worse than post-op. I went to my Ob/Gyn the Thursday after Thanksgiving and had my hyster the week before Christmas (we had talked last year about it being a possibility due to uterine prolapse, but when I went back this year, things had shifted dramatically). With the suddeness of it and being so busy at work, I didn't have a lot of time to worry in advance. However, I wish I had checked out this site ahead of time as there are so many things on here that you learn that will make your recovery smoother. So ask any questions you may have - nothing is too small or too "personal" to ask!

I am having a TAH/BSO. I am a little nervous about the HRT afterwards. I hear it can take quite some time to find the right balance.
