Pain med options?
Haven't seen a lot of info on Tramacet. Has anyone else tried it? My GP prescribed 2 tabs 3X day but WOW tried it and dizzy, nausea, migraine! Scaled it down to 1 tab 2 or 3X a day but still some side effects. I've been using Tylenol and Anaprox (Aleve) alternating but need more and don't want to try narcotics ( yet). Anyone had success with other pain meds?
Sorry, I should add, my gyno suspects adenomyosis and I have tried many hormone options. No surgeries yet, just diagnostic procedures.

Re: Pain med options?
In the US, Tramacet is Ultram (generic is Tramadol) which I used 3 x day (for non-gynecological issues) without any side effects. However, I also didn't find it exceptionally helpful either.
Let your doctor know what side effects you are experiencing and find out if you should discontinue the medication. There are a wide variety of medications that your doctor could suggest instead. There are several NSAID's, COX-2 inhibitors, some anti-depressants that work for chronic pain, etc.

Re: Pain med options?
I found that it kept me awake at night. I can take it during the day without any issue (although you need to build up to 2 at a time) but I'd only sleep 2 or 3 hours a night if I took it after about 5pm. It only helps somewhat with major pain, though. It never touched my cramping.

Re: Pain med options?
Thanks Weiser and mtns2islands! Yes! I was agitated and restless at night. I've still had a little trouble with the single tab dose but it does offer some relief. Trying to decrease my nsaids due to stomach issues so GP thought this tramacet might help the inflammation without stomach damage. I guess it takes a few tries to find a drug that works

Re: Pain med options?
I was trying it after a back procedure. Was taking it regularly, but didn't notice any difference between that and no pain meds or just plain Advil which I know I take way too much of. Ironically when I went back to the same doctor who had prescribed the tramadol, she said it wasn't strong enough. Forgot you prescribed it?? I second Weiser's suggestion that you talk to your doctor. There are lots of pain meds out there and some other types of drugs that you can take to control pain that are usually used for something else. I am taking one for the same back issue, but it has to be taken at night due to known side effects. Maybe they can find one that works for you. I don't like taking narcotics or even non narcotic prescription pain meds due to some side effects so I know where you are coming from.
