Finally did it!! with some lessons learned... ;)

Well ladies, quick update:
I'm doing very well almost 6 months post-op. I have been super active again and enjoying life. And now.. I have a boyfriend
I let him know pretty early on about the hyst and that I couldn't have kids. He was really great and supportive about it all.
I was VERY nervous about the "first time" (especially since I had avoided sex for 2 1/2 years b/c it was so painful). I took the advice that I received on here to heart. I bought some KY, candles, music and wine. It was actually the most romantic evening I've ever had. One big tip of advice: drink maybe 1-2 glasses of wine... not the whole bottle (I was really nervous)!! I didn't need KY the first time.. but.. umm.. like I said, it's been a while, so later in the night/morning at about round 4, it was really helpful.. hehehe
I was sore the next day (maybe overdid it?? haha), but advil took the pain away (evidentally advil DOES work). The next time that we had sex, I didn't have any pain after sex, so I was so delighted. Sex was actually enjoyable!!! So THIS is what all the talk is about!
This was my very last concern w/ my hyst, so I'm glad it's over with. My doctor still wants to do a dye study to make sure my cervix is occluded (to prevent ectopic pregnancies), so I'm still using protection.
That's my update - for those of you concerned w/ the first time - just do the wine, music, candles, and ky and it should go smoothly.
*hugs to my sisters*
-Lindsey

Glad you are discovering what all the fuss is about. And I may take your advice--my 6 week check is today and hubby flying home tomorrow. He has been gone almost a month and has gently inquired "how are you FEELING". I know he is anxious, I am a little TERRIFIED. May have to have a cocktail before!
Congratulations on the milestone!

Xia, cool you found a new man who understands how difficult it can be that first time out.
On the other hand, stop bragging. You're making the rest of us jealous.
