Skin tender above incision

I am almost two weeks post op (left ovary and uterus removed). My laparotomy incision isn't painful, but the area about two inches above it and spanning across my abdomen is. It's so sensitive that even my cotton nightie makes it uncomfortable. Is this normal? Could it be nerve endings? I should add that there is no redness, and I do not have a fever.

Re: Skin tender above incision

It is normal to feel this way. My Dr told me that I will possibly feel this way for up to about 8 months. It takes time for the nerves and stuff to grow back.
I have tenderness and numbness all at the same time around my incision. He told me to not bump up against anything because I can't feel it and it will still hurt me.
I had the bikini cut with TAH.
