how accurate is the frozen section pathology?
Hi...I am three days post op now. I had the DaVinci and I am doing ok....gas pains are bad...would really like to have a bm!! Sleeping in the recliner is working better than trying to lay in the bed..anyway..I was happy that my doctor said the frozen section just showed the atypical cells, not cancer. But she said we will get the final pathology in about 2 weeks....my question is, how accurate is the frozen? She seems to think that if it does show cancer, it will be low grade and I will need no further treatment...???? not sure about all this. Anyone else?

Re: how accurate is the frozen section pathology?
Glad to hear you are doing okay. The surgery is behind you now, doesn't that feel so much better?
I was told by my doctor after surgery that no apparent cancer was seen and that she would know more when she got the pathology report. Also I was told if they did find any cancer in the biopsy it was most likely low grade.
I went for my first post op exam last week, I was told they found uterine cancer, stage one. No further treatment needed, but close followup appointments for the next few years.
I can handle that.
You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your recovery is going well.

Re: how accurate is the frozen section pathology?
So glad to hear from you little sister! I am happy it was a low grade cancer! I will go for my post op appt. on Aug 22. But my doctor said the same, that if it is cancer, it is most likely low grade and no further treatment. Yes, I am glad the surgery Is behind me. I couldn't have went through all this without God most of all, and my family and hystersisters! Keep in touch!
