Re: How has your pet acted during your recovery?
I have two cats. The older one - he'll be 13 in February - normally sleeps with me at night, usually *next* to me on the bed. My first night home from the hospital, he waited until I was settled (on my side) and then climbed on *top* of me and sprawled out, as if trying to cover as much of me as he could. I think he was determined to keep me from "vanishing" for another three days!
Both cats are fairly affectionate, but they were more so the first week or two of my recovery. Also, they both obviously liked having "Mumma" spending so much time at home! It was June, so the three of us spent a lot of time sitting out in the sunshine together.

Re: How has your pet acted during your recovery?
My baby normally gets to sleep with me, but since they told me at the hospital no pets in the bed or lap, my husband wouldn't let her...but I would let her up there when he was at work. She has always been stuck to me and been more so now! She sleeps right next to my belly if I'm on my side or right next to my side if I'm on my back. She will clean my hand and "flea" it, lol...so sweet!
When my husband wouldn't let her on the bed or my lap, she would look at me with such a pitiful look on her face! Broke my heart!
I know she loves me unconditionally and I love her unconditionally!!

My dogs stuck close to me and were well behaved. I loved having their company and they loved having me home.

Re: How has your pet acted during your recovery?
My 9 year old Jack Russel is not one to lay with anyone. Three months ago when I had shoulder surgery she was by my side for a whole week and didn't even bark at the door bell. This time around she's doing the same thing. This is why God gave us our fury friends, and it makes our healing go a lot faster!

I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. One of the dogs has been super clingy. She is constantly jumping in my lap. None have ever been particularly close but I do pay them equal amounts of attention.

How has your pet acted during your recovery?
My cat never left me, wherever I went he went. If I was laying down he always had one paw touching me. The first few days both my animals were that way but after a few days it was as if my dog got mad that I wasn't playing with her or catering to her. She pouted for a couple of weeks.

How has your pet acted during your recovery?
How cute!!! Macy my 1 yr old aussie bulldog was sniffing my stomach constantly for the first 3 days..... Just all around my stomach!?! It was really strange and kind of disturbing, I wonder what she could smell in there? After the 3 days and many "stop it Macy's" she just deserted me to play with her you shoe and her bones...... Lol hope your healing well and it's great that you have your furry friend beside you every step of the way!! I totally believe in "per therapy" they just have a weird way of making you feel OK x

Re: How has your pet acted during your recovery?
That is so funny…..I didn't really think about it until I read your post. My oldest cat, who is about 11, has been all over me. He is sometimes like that, but he has been almost a little obnoxious when I am trying to do things. He definitely must know something is up! Glad you said something and made me realize that.
