Sorry, don't have an answer for you. Thought I'd bump you back to the top of the forum. If you don't get an answer here, try posting on the post-op board and see if anyone there can help you. If it would make you feel better, maybe you could call the nurse at the office and ask her if this is something your doctor needs to know about.

My belly is really starting to swell

Yes, my belly was swollen like a basketball! I looked at LEAST 7 months PG. I have before and after pictures I wish I could show you! The big belly was one of my first symptoms in late September, and by December I was huge! I had lots of fibroids--some that weren't detected by the CT and ultrasounds because they were in back of my uterus. I also had fluid built up in there from all the inflammation (adhesions, etc.). I couldn't believe how flat my abdomen was after surgery! It was like having a baby!

My belly is really starting to swell

My belly has grown in the last month quite a bit. I had to buy different clothes because my old clothes fit everywhere but around my belly. I just figured it was all the holiday eating and lack of exercise......but just this last week I have noticed that my belly has grown even bigger and I am now having to use the bathroom more frequently.
I don't know how fast a mass might grow, but my doctor told me that my fibroids are growing fast enough to account for my belly growth.......I would take SaraS's advice and call the doctor, just to be sure!!

Swollen belly

Hi sister!!!

I too am having a Large Problem with swelling. I'm supposed to go for surgery (Everything out) on then 26th of this month and I can't wait. At the rate I'm expanding my wardrobe won't last much longer than that anyway! I have large cysts that are growing way too quick for my liking.

Good luck and good health to you.

My belly is really starting to swell

I have been swelling alot also, so I did a little research and I came to these conclusions:

1. I have a large fibroid on my right ovary the size of an orange and it is growing at a pretty good pace right now - so that is like having a 3 mo. old fetus in my belly RIGHT there.

2. I also have 2 - 3 golf ball size fibroids on my left ovary growing also - so we are adding 2 more 1 mo. old fetus

3. I have about 5 golf ball size fibroids on my uterus - so there are 5 more 1 mo. old fetus'

So if I think about it I have the equivilant of 7 -8 1 mo old fetus and a 3 mo old growing in my belly and I'm stressed because I can't button my jeans? IF I really was pregnant everyone would be telling me how GREAT I look for being "that far along" LOL - so that is what I shall tell myself.

My belly is really starting to swell

I hear you re: the 'belly swell". I can't decide if it's the lack of ab workouts over the holidays, the holiday food ( although the scale isn't showing a gain), the power of suggestion? - I saw my gyne Dec. 22nd who said the fibroid was a 14 - 16 week size and had likely grown since the ultrasound late Sept.

Whatever the reason, I feel bloated and big with a feeling of heaviness and can't suck in my abs. At the end of a day when I'm on my feet, I just want to 'let it all hang out'! It's like that gross period feeling, only without the bleeding and cramps.

TAH hopefully in early April
