LSH: Do I need a binder for LSH?

Hi all,
Just wondering, do I need to get a binder for a LSH or is that only helpful for an abdominal incision?

I had didn't not use one for my LSH and didn't feel,like I needed one. I did hold a pillow on my belly when coughing and sneezing. Hope your surgery goes well!

Having a binder is a personal decision. I had a TAH BSO and did not feel I needed a binder. Some women swear by them. So it really comes down to what you want.

I was considering having a binder and asked my doctor about it. Since I don't have a flat tummy (or anywhere even close, LOL) I thought it would help. Wish I had one when I had my C-section 27 years ago so thought it might help. Does anyone know how tight they are? I'm afraid it will get annoying.

Also, I'm having my hyst via lap. I think the doctor called it TAH, but can someone point me to where the definition of all these letters is???

I had a DvSH and I ended up asking for one at the hospital. I only used it for a few days, but it definitely helped.
