Re: migraines and depression

I'm experiencing both but I have suffered for yrs with migraines so this was no surprised. My issue with the depression is most likely because I feel helpless. I'm only 9 days post op & I'm not use to sitting around like this. The only time I am ever off work for an extended period of times is when I'm on vacation. Well this is no vacation to me.

Sounds like we have a lot in common. Vacations are my only times off and even then I work out with weights or aerobics on a regular basis. I have had success with an herbal, butterbur, for my migraines until the second one after surgery and nothing helped. :-(

Re: migraines and depression

Ugh, I hear ya! The only 2 things that help with my migraines are steroids (which causes insomnia & bloating) & Imitrex injections. I really wanted to focus on my recovery from my surgery & now I have to deal with these too. I went to Target tonight & that was enough for me to handle. I kinda think, oh I'll be ok going out (because I'm in the house all day) but it does take a lot out of you. We can only hope that things get better! 😊👍

Re: migraines and depression following hysterectomy

I actually posted a thread about migraine issues some weeks ago.. Im prone to them and could not shake one after surgery. Ended up having to go to my family doc and got a shot felt much better after that. My head had bn hurting more than the surgery point and the pain meds did not help. The pain & stress on my body triggered the migraine which increased my blood pressure which keot the migraine amped up. It was a vicous circle... But after the shot had a nice long nap and felt much better and could concentrate on the pain in my belly lol
Good luck & feel better soon
