Numb legs?

Had a complete hyst. on 4/18...Dr. took everything + kitchen sink...including lymph nodes, which some happened to be wrapped around a nerve in my leg, that had to be cut, then repaired. story short...my legs are feeling tingly & sore.Physical therapy will be in my future.Anyone else have any similar experience?...or I the only lucky one?!

Re: Numb legs?

edestpierre -

Due to lymph node removal I have some on-going nerve sensations. My gyn-onc originally told me after a year it would be at whatever level from that point forwad. I did some acupuncture and that helped decrease it some more. I don't have to accomodate it as much as I used to in the clothes that I wear but still have to sometimes.

because it takes a while for those nerves to heal.

Re: Numb legs?

Thank you for sharing ...my gyn-onc was fortunate to have the assistance of another surgeon to help repair the nerve in the middle of my surgery.I'm feeling very blessed to report I am feeling well & officially an ovarian cancer survivor. Best of luck to you... & thx again for sharing!

Re: Numb legs?

You are most welcome. I'm sure others might stop by with their experiences. Mine weren't severed but agitated enough and my gyn-onc said it can be a side effect of lymph node removal in the groin area. It wasn't my whole leg, luckily but on both sides of the groin.

I hope your PT goes well and if you ever feel the need stop by the Cancer Concerns forum. The women there are very supportive and have had a variety of treatments and experiences.

Here's to you as a Cancer Survivor
