Light pink spotting

I was told by the doctor that some bleeding for 3 weeks after surgery was not only normal, but to be expected as the inner stitches melt etc...

I hardly had any bleeding at all, but since yesterday, a week after surgery, I have had very light pink on the toilet paper when I wipe (sorry TMI).

The little bit of blood I had had before was dark brown, so old blood.

The pinkish color makes me feel weird. It is very very light, some might not even notice it I guess, and it is only when I wipe.

Have any of you had this?

Re: Light pink spotting

I had bleeding for 6 weeks after my surgery and was told by my doctor that was normal. I think you are very early post op and the inside is still healing. If you are concerned you can always call the doctor office and they can let you know if they need to see you.

Hang in there

Re: Light pink spotting

I am in canada... UGH... "Calling in" is a real luxury...

I mean, you try to call, and if you are really really lucky, you get to talk to the nurse..

I tried today and did not even get through...

Since the doctor DID tell me it was normal for 3 weeks post op, I am thinking he wont tell me to go in for sure. The bleeing is very very light..

I guess I just feel weird because I was not bleeding for days past the surgery, and now 10 days post op, slight bleeding..

Spotting actually is more like it..

But I read so many like you who,s bleeding (spotting) went on for weeks and were told it was ok...

Re: Light pink spotting

I also had a light pink and sometimes yellow very light discharge for the first couple of weeks. (I really only noticed it when I wiped.) At my 3 week check, the doc said everything looked great, so I'm thinking it was normal. Hang in there. I'm almost to week 4 and have no discharge. Woo Hoo!

Re: Light pink spotting

Yes I get light pink watery discharge also. Some days it is light yellowish and I only notice it when I go to the bathroom. When it first became yellowish I went to my GP to get it checked out. She checked my internal stitches and said it was normal healing. From what I've read on this site it's a normal part of the healing process.

Re: Light pink spotting

Yes there is some yellowish here too...

I just know deep down that there is no infection or anything like that, cause I feel great, there is no pain, etc, etc, etc...

I guess it cant be anything else right? I mean, other than infection?

By the way, I am being so freaky about this because I had so many health issues after giving birth (which lead me to hysterectomy) that I have become pananoied!
