Is anyone still have problems with constipation at 5 weeks post hysterectomy

I am still taking stool softeners and drinking Metamucil or eating fiber gummy bears every night before I go to bed. I drink a lot of water and walk everyday. I have my Post Op this Thursday. I am also having cramps and a right side ache almost everyday since last Sat. I don't know if it's normal or because I get constipated. I will talk to my dr. this week but wonder if anyone else is having this problem?

I'm at 4 weeks and still need fiber, senakot and stool softener to even think about having a bm

I have battled constipation since i got sick mid jan (symptom of endomyosis, who knew??). At 5 weeks it seemed to get worse!! I started 2 fiber choice and pretty much stopped the softeners and went with a little magnesium. Always drink plenty of water. Finally getting normal again!! Still take fiber (good for me anyway), but dont use a lot of magnesium. Bowel movements arent a hoot, but wouldnt call it painful either, and soon as im done, the discomfort goes away.

I had my surgery the very same day as you and am still having bowel and urine problems. I eat loads of fresh fruit and have prunes and prune juice daily. Loads of water and I walk 30mins a day. My water works still stings and is hot. Two samples taken to the GP have both showed both pus and blood but when cultured for a few days show no infection ...im so so frustrated with both ends not functioning properly ! Here in Australia we say goodbye to the Gyno specialist the day we leave hospital and dont see them for 6 weeks for post op !!! I see him next week and have lots of questions. My GP isnt really interested just keeps saying to drink more Ural !! Frustrated !
