Unsure of what type of Hysterectomy I will have

My doctor informed me that he has every intention of doing a LAVH on my date. But, due to my two previous C-sections, he will have to see how much scar tissue I have built up and it may become a SAH during the surgery. I'm not sure what I will wake up to. I'm already scared about having the hysterectomy, but not being able to plan my recovery period is also making me very nervious. I want to prepare my husband and my boys for my recovery time. Any suggestions?

when you have any type of laparoscopic surgery planned, you have to give the dr permission to convert to an abdominal if he has any problems. its standard procedure. i had quite a few abdominal surgeries in the past (including 2 csections) and i was able to have the lsh with no problems at all. i wouldnt worry about it too much...good luck

My surgery is tomorrow and my dr. said the same exact thing..and I won't know what I've had until I wake up! It's a little unnerving, but out of my control I guess. expect the worst, but pray for the best!
