For ALL of my sisters

I am only 4 days post op, but I have been going through a LOT of emotions. I've read a lot of posts, and I've posted a few times.

I just have to say, there are so many stories. So many differences in hysterectomies, reasons why we needed them, recovery differences.

But this is the one place I feel like I can go that I am understood, and not judged. I cannot thank you all enough for your support, and I hope as I recover I can give back to ladies in waiting, and post op ladies as well.

I am having a really hard time recovering, and am in a lot of pain despite the nurses at the hospital saying I have a high pain tolerance (I just hide it well I guess). But this site makes me feel better about all of it.

Thank you all for being here I hope you all recover as best as you can, with little to no road blocks

Re: For ALL of my sisters

What lovely thoughts to share. It is a wonderful site isn't it. When you are home alone, feeling lonely, feeling trapped cause ya can't drive yet. At least I have felt comforted in those areas. I'm 3.5 weeks out and it does get better. I'm walking some and that has helped tremendously. Keep up the positive energy everyone!

Re: For ALL of my sisters

EODWife,
It really is an amazing site, and run by amazing women. I feel honored to be a Sunshine Sister. You are right when you say we can come on here and not be judged, and that is a really nice feeling. I like reading the titles of the threads and they are all so different and some very personal but here it's ok. I find myself becoming much more open and matter of fact in my own life when talking to doctors, physiotherapists, even my friends about my post op issues.

I have also had issues with healing and on-going pain, so I understand how difficult that can be. You are not alone. Some of us are just slow healers and fall behind the group for a while. But you will get there in the end. I mentally acknowledged the trauma my body went through and I gave it the liberty to heal in its own time. It helped me to think of it that way.

p.s. The emotions do get crazy-scary for a while but even out eventually. I was a mess for a while, and it was very hard. Our doctors didn't warn us about that little tid-bit, did they?! It gets better, I promise.

Re: For ALL of my sisters

I told my doctor, the nurses, and friends about this site. Naturally, they get a giggle out of the site name! It has been invaluable for getting and sharing information.

Hugs to all
