hot all the time, pre-op

is anyone else having this? i am hot ALL the time. not drenching sweat, but definitely sweaty and clammy and just HOT. i sit here with air turned on high, ceiling fan going... feeling warm... my DH is all wrapped in blanket.

i mentioned to my primary care dr. when i was there a couple of days ago... he shrugged and said it could be hormonal, but advised waiting until hyst is done and overwith... if i'm still always hot, we will investigate.

am i the only one???? it's starting to drive me crazy.

hot all the time, pre-op

AACK! Me too! I'm hot all the time now! You know, in actuality, my Mom, me, and my DS are hot all the time. The strange thing for me is that when I was on the BC pills, my temperature was much more regulated. When I'd go off for the one week, along with the migraines, I'd get this nasty sweating. It felt better being on the pills, just because when I'm too hot I'm miserable! I would also actually get to the point in the winter/fall that I was freezing! I'd sit all night huddled under my electric cuddle blanket. I think that's due to my hypothroidism, but for as long as I can remember, I'm generally hot. I hate it most when I get out of the shower in the morning and I'm sweating right afterwards. Grrr. I also hate that I'm beet red in the face when I exercise, and sweat worse than a man at times. What is that???
I'm seriously wondering if I'll be screaming for air conditioning in the castle tomorrow when they yank both ovaries!!! I hope to shout somewhere down this long line I get some regulation. I've looked up heat intolerance, but it mostly says people have the hyperthyroidism, and I'm not there.

Hugs, and counting down the hours... have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am... hope I'll still be

Me Too!!

I thought I was going insane...either that or my ovaries heard that they were out of there and they decided to quit working on general principal..lol. It isn't like a hot flash, I am just hot. Sitting here with the air on and two fans blowing on me!

I sure am glad that I am not the only one!

hot all the time, pre-op

I have this problem mostly at night. I wake up at night absolutely roasting, even with the ceiling fan spinning and the air conditioner on high. My poor husband thinks that I am nuts, he complains about how cold the room is in the middle of the night. This from a man that can never have the house/car, etc. cold enough. I am hoping that after my SAH, this will get better. Nice to know I am not unique in my issue with this. I can't imagine what it will be like to be menopausal..... !

Join the Club!

I thought that I was the only one. I am always hot and always sweating. I am so miserable during hot, humid summers. Thank goodness for air conditioners! I wish I could carry my a.c. with me wherever I went. I always have to make sure to carry tissues or paper towels with me to wipe the perspiration from my face. It is so embarassing at times. Hopefully, these symptoms will improve for all of us after surgery.

Hot all the time

I don't know about you ladies but where I come from they are called hot flashes and night sweats . I have had them for the last 2 year and they have gotten worse in the past 6 months. I am hoping that after my TAH/BSO/LOA they will be better with the hormone patch. I know the bottled watter company really loves me right now though.

There is hope!

I'm a post op sister who was also hot all the time before hyst. First night in the castle the night sweats started. Started ERT two days post op, no more night sweats no more burning up all the time! You do have hope!

Just got home..

Hi Gals -

Short, cuz I'm zonked, but just got home from the castle. Haven't felt hot once since I've woken up from surgery! Sugery Monday, today is Wed. (Knock on wood). Pray I stay this way! (Well, not with the massive rumbling gas going on, but the no heat part!) I know every day will get better.. I don't feel too good right now! Have had a couple of doozy nights!

Okay, gotta rest!

Hugs,
Lisa

Welcome home, Princess Lisa!

I'm so glad that your surgery went well. As my surgery date approaches - July 31 - I find myself getting a little nervous. I guess what everyone says is right that the waiting is the worst part. Thank you so much to you and to all of the hyster sisters like yourself who let us know what we might experience after our visit to the castle. Please take it easy, and get plenty of rest.
