sooooooooo tired!!!

I am 4 weeks post op today following a LAVH due to endometriosis and luckily still have one ovary. Felt wonderful yesterday even managed to do a bit of food shopping with my husband (all i did was walk around the supermarket) i did not lift anything or bend. Last night felt a little tired but proud of myself!
Today feel awful such an effort to get out of bed, extremely tired and really emotional. Is this normal and how long is this going to take?
I feel really sorry for myself and low, im not normally that kind of person so i dont like feelin this way. Just looking for some re assurance xxxx

Re: sooooooooo tired!!!

I know how you feel. They say weeks three and four are very frustrating bcuz u feel so much better yet when u do things it ends up putting u a step back. I am almost three weeks and it's exacly that way for me too! Hang in there and try to find things to cheer yourself up!!! Maybe a funny movie etc. I have been getting in the "poor me" stage where I'm so ready to resume normal activity.
As for how long it takes.. Seems most are saying about the 5th week they felt better on a reg basis!!
Of course were all different but you're almost there!!!
Try to smile

Re: sooooooooo tired!!!

It sounds pretty normal. My week 5 was way worse than week 4 for some reason. After my 8th week I steadily was able to do more each week. You will get better. It just takes time. I know it is boring but just keep resting & taking walks & resting. It sounds like you are doing well. Best wishes!

Re: sooooooooo tired!!!

Its so frustrating. I tried going back to work yesterday and failed I got all ready and just couldn't do it. Between being wore out and some pain. Tomorrow will be three weeks for my surgery but I didn't know I was having a hysterectomy going in.. Just thought ovary cyst removal. So was not prepared at all to be out this long!!
See? Poor me again!!! Haha
Hang in there!! We are healing better than some I've read recently. It reminds me how lucky I am!

Re: sooooooooo tired!!!

Yuppers,,,just have to be patient. Takes some time to get your stamina back. I started feeling fabulous at week 5, with no pain at all. I still havent gotten the clearance for "normal" activity so I am still taking it slow but doing a bit more everyday. I do have days, like yesterday that my energy and ability allowed me to accomplish more chores than what I normally do, and today I am finding I need to take it a bit more easy....not so much because of pain in my belly, although tend to use more muscles than what we've been used to,,,but over all muscle use. It took me almost 10 months of working out to get into "fine" shape, and only 5 weeks lol to get into "aweful" shape lol. Just have to take it slowly and listen to your body and I'm confident we will all get back to better than our "normal" Good luck
