Migraines?

Hey ladies...Do any of you have a history of chronic migraines? If so, did it get better after your surgery? I realize that right now my hormones are all out of whack (technical term) and so I'm probably likely to have as many migraines as before. I am just wondering if those with chronic migraines had any relief after their surgeries. TIA.

Re: Migraines?

I always got a migraine the day I was going to start my period. Dr told me that I still have my ovaries, I could still have the migraines. I don't think my ovaries are functioning yet because I'm still getting hot flashes and night sweats. I sure hope I don't have to keep having them every month!! I'm just waiting to see. With my finges crossed.

Re: Migraines?

Super_stina,
I have had a 20 year history of chronic migraines. They seemed to be related to my cycle and I would get at least 5 a month. I had a TVH and kept my ovaries. Since surgery (one year ago) I have only had about 3 migraines. In a year! I am wondering now if the migraines were caused by the pill, because I took that for many years. At any rate, it is one of the few things that are better for me since the surgery, so I'm enjoying that!

Re: Migraines?

Hi,
I have suffered with migraines for years. I usually got at least 1-2 per month either before, during or after my period. I also got strong hormonal headaches on the other days and sometimes during ovulation mid month. I never took the pill cause it caused side effects (and didn't need contraception due to DH infertility and inability to have children). I had a TAH just under 11 weeks ago. I have had 1 migraine and 1 really bad headache, and several mild headaches. I kept my ovaries. I am desperately hoping it is only happening while my body sorts through the whole 'missing parts' stuff & hoping they disappear. Goodluck to everyone else. Wish we could all be migraine free :-)
