One week left before surgery

Starting to get nervous about my surgery,(April 12) having had a couple of C-section, my doctor will have to perform an abdominal incision to remove my uterus. I know recovery will be just as long as long as when I had my C-sections ,but this time there will not be a bundle of joy to keep me preoccupied. I have to be strong and set a good example for my girls (I have 3 beatiful girls, ages 23,20, and 17), I am trying to keep a positive view on this since one day they may have to go through the same thing.
Wish me luck, my family has been very supportive and I know that this is the best thing I can do for myself so I won't have to suffer from my fibroids and stop feeling so tired.

Try to be positive about it. I know it's hard somedays. I had surgery 10 days ago and I'm so glad it's over. Waiting is tough. It truely is the worst part. Not knowing. I think a good attitude going in helps.

I totally understand about the baby thing. It made me sad, even though I have 4 and was not planning on having anymore. Just that maternal instinct kicking in, I guess.


My motto was to breathe, think positive, and have faith.

It is so normal to be nervous before your operation . I had allsorts going though my head.Everyone kept saying dont worry. But you still do.Trust me I had my hysterectomy 16 days ago and I really did not think I could cope with the pain.It was not as bad as I thought it would be I was expecting far worse. I hope that is a comfort to you.Take care.
