bleeding 10 days out

Hi all
I had a TAH December 4th. I have had a pretty easy time I think. Very little pain - at least none I could not deal with. However, this afternoon I started spotting. I have pushed myself maybe a little more than I should have - nothing major but maybe tried too much when I should have stopped and rested. It is not too heavy but I have not bled since I left the hospital. Is this something I need to worry about or just wait and watch? Is it normal to start spotting almost 2 weeks out?

did you get post op directions before you left the hospital? i believe its considered normal for up to 6 weeks after but you might want to check with your dr. he can let you know what he wants you to do if it gets heavy.

Yes I did look at my instructions this afternoon and it did not say anything about bleeings. I do remember my doctor saying there could be some bleeding but was not sure how long was normal.

Hi msalphabet , I am almost 9 weeks post-op TAH/BSO and bled/spotted for exactly 5 weeks. My doctor told me to expect this and that it was perfectly normal. I did notice if I exerted myself more than usual I might spot a little heavier but it would always slow back down. At one point I filled a mini-pad and it was bright red. My doctor had me come in and checked me. She said I had "popped" a stitch but was still healing well. If you see bright red blood, if it's more than usual, or if you are just concerned , give your doctor a call. Peace of mind is worth everything.
