Did too much...ouch (kids mentioned)

Ok, so I'm 4 weeks post op. I woke up feeling much better on Saturday and decided to dye my hair. I figured I would have the strength and energy to do a little thing like that! Ha! 5 hours later (the bleaching takes 2.5 hours and the dye 2.5 hours) I was not doing good. Oh my poor body! I felt like I did on week 2 post op. And then on Sunday I was bad again. I went to church (not a problem because I sat almost the whole time) but then realized that there were no eggs, milk, or bread in the house. Ok, so off to Walmart. I know, I know. It was naughty of me. And of course I picked up more than just the eggs and stuff. A full cart later (turns out 'Mother Hubbord's' cupboards were bare) after I had paid for everything, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get all of these groceries into the house!!! A bag of oranges, I can handle. A bunch of bananas, I can handle. 8 apples, I can handle. But they were all in the same bag! And all of the other 30-something bags were filled up the same way. Well, I think, I have a 5 year old helper that can help take things in for me. (Ya, right.) I grab a bag and hand her a loaf of bread and in we go, up the porch stairs and into the house. I couldn't take the whining. You would have thought I asked her to carry a 50 pound bag of rice or something. Ok, I ended up carrying in all of the groceries. I couldn't let then sit out there and spoil. Husband is working out of town and teens were at a friends house. Then I realized that the dishes needed to be loaded into the washer and the laundry needed to be washed. (Funny thing, clean undies and socks are a must!) Ahhh. Such is life.
That was Saturday and Sunday. Monday I sat in my recliner, took some pain meds, watched movies all day and let everyone wait on me again.
I guess I'm not ready to be well yet. At least that is what my body is telling me So I will listen to it for a few more weeks and try to be good.

Wow, that is way too much! I have yet to push a full cart of groceries though I hate waiting for an "escort" every time I need something from the store. I hope everything is ok!

Re: Did too much...ouch (kids mentioned)

I'm feeling much better now that I've had a couple of days of doing nothing
Also, I had the teens push the cart of groceries around for me before I dropped them off at their friends house. You are right, it is getting to be quite a bother to waitfor people to help out. Now that I'm not taking the pain meds that make me sleepy, I am awake enough to see all of the stuff that needs to be done. Well, it will just have to wait

Re: Did too much...ouch (kids mentioned)

You're brave. Walmart, only 4 weeks post. I can't handle that place unless I go early when the crowds are thin, I'm fully rested, in a good mood, and with my earplugs and sunglasses for the glare. A visor helps, too. So I'm staying away for a long, long time yet. I can't imagine pushing a cart at this point.

Take care!
