Spotting is this normal?

I am ine week post op TVH. I have been fortunate that I have not been bleeding or even spotting since a couple of days after my surgery. I have noticed the past couple of days I am feeling some "twinges and sensations" in my vaginal area. I figure this is where I have stitches healing, etc. last night I was very uncomfortable in my pelvic area on the right side about where my ovary had been. I took my pain meds and used the heating pad which really helped. Today I still have those sensations but have noticed some spotting. It's not red, but since I haven't been spotting I am concerned if this is normal.

Re: Spotting is this normal?

Hi! I am week 3 post op TVH and I didn't have any spotting until around the end of week 2, then I had some dark brownish/red discharge turning to darker red. When I went to my Dr appt around my 18 day post op he examed me and said it was my vaginal cuff, still has stiches and when you are up and moving around more you will see more discharge. I find I have the discharge when I have been more active during the day . Normally once I started the discharge I will take it easy for a few days and it stops. It might help ease your mind if you call your dr and talk to him/her.

Re: Spotting is this normal?

Yes, spotting is normal in many ladies. Some have no spotting at all and others do for many weeks. The thing to watch for is increased pain, bright red bleeding and filling one pad in one hour. I second the suggestion of calling your doctor if you are concerned. I hope this helps.
