Thin uterus?
I'm wondering if this has anything to do with my problems. I had an emergency c-section in 99 and then another in 2001. During my last c-section as soon as the doc made my incision he said "Oh crap". Never a good thing to hear Turns out my uterus was "paper thin" and he nicked my dd on her forhead with the scalple. He told me if I had tried a v-bac I would have ruptured and then advised me to have my tubes tied.
I know alot of women go on about how thick their uterus is. What about me? Has anybody ever been told they have a thin uterus? Does it always stay thin? huh, huh, anybody know anything?

Thin uterus
I was unable to have a successful D & C in October because my uterine lining was so thin, and the dr. had to stop or I would have had major bleeding problems. She was trying to get a biopsy. I had been on HRT, and had breakthrough bleeding. I was so frustrated.
So, my options were: do nothing & still not know if I have cancer, or have hysterectomy. Based on my history, I chose the hysterectomy, scheduled 3 wks from today.
3 yrs ago, I had an endometrial ablation, which could have resulted in the thin lining. Who knows ? Even my doc didn't know. I am having everything taken out. And thankfully, everything will be biopsied, so the big "C" question will be answered once & for all.

Thin uterus?
Thanks for your reply. Has the doctor ever mentioned if some of your problems are from your think uterus?

Thin uterus?
No. I had the endometrial ablation because of fibroids. I didn't have big ones, but several throughout my uterus. It was a good solution at the time. Once I had it done (age 47), I stopped having periods and went into menopause. I LOVED my HRT. For 3 years, I coasted along, wondering how on earth I could have gotten so lucky.
But your past has a way of catching up to you. Not only have I had 2 major surgeries for endometriosis while in my 20s, (and the ablation), I always suffered from horrendous cramps., and was diagnosed several years ago with HPV.
Based on all that, I am having everything removed, to eliminate the risk of cancer of the ovaries, uterus, cervix. You name it.
Right now I am on antidepressants, and have major lower back pain. I am hoping I will feel better after the hysterectomy, and also once I get back on HRT.
Good luck !

Thin uterus?
(((gottap)))
I had a TAH/BSO 6 mo. ago. I had also had an Emergancy c/section in 1999, with it, my incision didn't heal well and we had to pack it for 6 weeks. I had a laparoscopy 6mo. later, then 3 more D&C's over the next 2 years. ( I had a total of 13 female surgeries in 10 yrs.) When the surgeon put the retractors in and went to "scoop" the uterus out, it ruptured!! He had never had that happen. He assumed it was very weakened from all the surgeries and a twin pregnancy. I had a pocket of 'old blood' in the area where I had to pack my incision. He was unsure of why it was there, or how long it had been there. I had not had a period in 2 yrs. and he thinks that I was indeed cycling and it was pooling into this pocket. Anyway...I am glad to be past all of that!!!
I do not know if a "THIN UTERUS" is the same as mine being "weakened" but it sounds like it is.
I am not sure if you are scheduled for or been advised to have a Hysterectomy, or if you were just wanting info. on thin uterus, but if you are contemplating a hysterectomy and decide it is the right option for you:
If/ When you get your surgery date, please go to your control panel and Edit Profile, adding your surgery date. This puts you on the calander and you can be sent a special greeting prior to surgery!! It also helps us in knowing how Pre-Op or Post-op you are, which helps in people replying to messages! Thanks!
