HRT and Breast Cancer

My mother passed when I was 14 to metastatic breast cancer. I have already at the age of 16 had numerous mamograms for fibrocystic changes. They are doing a LAVH on the 15th and taking everything, tubes ovaries cervix etc. My concern is HRT with family history of breast CA. Anyone heard anything like this? The trip to the castle will come regardless, but just wondering if more frequent monitoring of what is left of my female organs is indicated.

As long as your Dr's know your breast cancer family history i'm sure everything medically necessary will be done to insure your risks are not elevated.

You might want to post/search over in the Cancer Concerns area of this site---you'll probably get alot more information from people who share your concerns.

hi, I am having a TAH/BSO on 4/11/05 and my mother (still living) had breast cancer and had one removed. Therefore, I am going to try something more natural in the way of HRT instead of conventional stuff.

I also have fibercystic breast tissue and have had one cyst removed. I do NOT want to add to my family history problems.

I will be checking with my health food store and also with another gyno that deals with both natural and conventional methods (she is not my reg. dr, but I am sure that she will answer any questions I have).

maybe you could check into something more natural.
