Bladder Question

My Gyn doctor said that he had to peel my bladder from my uterus and make a small repair. Is that a normal occurrence during a TAH?

Re: Bladder Question

I had asked my doctor if the surgery would help with my bladder issues, and he told me that I would need to see a urologist for that. But during the surgery, He said my bladder and uterus had grown together and he had to reinforce and lift my bladder. From the way he talked before and after, I felt like it wasn't common. But now, It is wonderful that I can cough without wetting myself. Almost worth having the surgery just for that.

Thanks for the reply. I have not had much luck researching it online. I have urology issues and see a urology doctor. I found out that my Gyn is an urogyn doctor.I will ask my Gyn about it at my follow up on Wednesday.

Re: Bladder Question

Hi!
I am 6 days post-op TAH, kept only ovaries.

I had 2 c-sections previous to this surgery and my drs. also told me that my uterus had basically fused to my bladder. They had to separate the bladder so they could remove my uterus.

They did not mention needing to do any repairs, however. They did mention it is common that scar tissue often causes such fusion between the organs.

I hope this helps you!

HUGS!
