I 've just one more question. I had a d & c thurs. I was cramping before like I was about to start aunt Flo. Since she is due at anytime, does anybody know if I will still have it this month or did the D & C take care of it. Just wondering. I'm not cramping now only a little discomfort from the d & c.

meco, It's more than likely you will not have a period this month. The D & C takes care of any lining of the uterus that has built up. I had a D & C 6 weeks before my hyst and NEVER got my period again even though I should have had one more before my surgery. I hope this helps.....

I guess we're all different. I had a D&C two weeks ago and had spotting for a week after and now have my period on schedule. Though I have to say that this one is the easiest I've had since my first one!!. If they were like this all the time I wouldnt be scheduling surgery for next month!!

I'm so jealous! I had my D&C on May 6th - I was supposed to have a period just afterwards, but who knows, because I was still bleeding and cramping from the D&C - and my first "real" period started last week and it's been HORRIBLE. So painful I've needed to go back on narcotic painkillers and heavy, heavy bleeding again (the first 4-5 days were an overnight-maxi-an-hour flow). It's the same again as it was before the D&C!! I can't believe it, I thought for sure the D&C would fix it.

Darn uteruses!!!!! LOL. It's SO frustrating!! My 21st birthday was two weeks ago and I thought maybe I would get my life back to normal as the best bday gift ever, but no luck!

I had a D&C and a week later got my period, more or less on time. It was a lot longer than usual. Finally stopped and then came back a week later for another week. I thought the D&C would help - it did a few years ago, but this time it didn't fix a thing.

I have had 2 D&C's before my hysterectomy. Period was different with both--with the first, no period or bleeding at all for about 6 weeks, then started up again worse than ever. With the second, spotted right afterwards for about 2 weeks, then the flow was back with a vengeance. Both times, I was on birth control pills. As a matter of fact, except for the two times I was pregnant with my sons, I have been on various types of birth control pills non-stop since I was 20.--That would be 17 years....and yes, I got pregnant with both kids while on the pill.....never stopped or regulated my bleeding either....and yes, I took them correctly.

I was interested to read about the different experiences after d&c. I just had my 2nd. AFter 1st I bleed for a week right after. 2nd done May 20, still no further bleeding. TAH scheduled for 6/28. Guess I may not have another period before surgery.
