Swelly Belly Band Question

I have looked into this and was wondering if it is helpful after a LSH? If so, what is the difference between the vertical and horizontal ones for a LSH?? I have so much in my head getting ready for this surgery that I am having a hard time even with simple things!! LOL!!! Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply!

Swelly Belly Band Question

Hey Jen,
Well, for after an LSH, I can't advise very well...perhaps the vertical band. My suggestion is to not concern yourself about buying that until after your surgery. It might be that just an ice pack or heating pad will do the trick for you. For myself, because I have a horizontal abdominal incision, I do like the horizontal Swelly Belly. It cools the entire incision area plus cushions that area from my seat belt when I drive.

Swelly Belly Band Question

My best friend after TAH was the heating pad!!! The warmth felt so good on the sore incision and it also helped alot with the gas pains! As I got up and moving more, I bought a abdominal binder but found that the extra support panties worked much better with alot less bulk. I found mine at WalMart for about $8.00. They provide alot of support and comfort especially while walking. I used the binder while in the car for more protection from the seatbelt. I also bought a bag of frozen peas when I wanted more cold (swelling). But I have to say, Thank God for Extra Strength Gas-Ex, heating pad and support panties!!!!
Best of luck and well wishes to you for a speedy recovery. Lots of rest!!!
HUGS, Michelle
