Finally!
I know this is early in the morning, and this may be , but I was finally able to go number two about a half hour ago. This is after three days without, and my abdomen filling with gas with or without the Gas-X. How do they expect me to pass gas and have bowel movements when they fill me with so much constipating medication that I can barely eat? I'm supposed to be on iron pills, but I'll be darned if I start those without being regular.
This isn't the most glamorous of posts, I know, but believe me, it's all I've thought about for three days now.

so glad youve been able to 'go' at last, must have been a relief, ive read on site that prune juice really gets things moving, i myself have kept regular post op by eating weetabix, fresh plums, necterines and bio yoghurts and so far seems to have done the trick, there was only 1 morning when found it hard to go and i think that was because id had pizza and fries with no veg or salad the night before. hope youre feeling ok.x

Hi there! Don't worry many of us have been though the same thing here....and it becomes all you think about. I just got over a large bout with constapation myself. Getting your diet on track can be very helpful although I know it is hard in the beginning because your tummy may still be unsettled from the meds. Eating foods with fiber help..
shredded wheat..prunes (they are not bad with sugar)spinach..
pea soup...catalope...watermelon..Try to stay away from white breads
pastas,rice,banana,applesauce...for just a while.
All of this helped me...thank God! Take care now

Finally!
Taking the metamucil pills has worked for me! Definitely has kept me regular since my surgery. Prior to surgery never had a problem.

Finally!
I had constipation trouble in the hospital when one of my children were born. The nurse heated some prune juice in the microwave for me to drink. It works!

Isn't it amazing that something so fundamental that we don't even think about it most of the time can bring us to our knees and have our eyes crossed in agony within a few days?:-)

Oh do I know your pain I finally poo'ed today for the first time in about 8 days when I had to do my fleet and it hurt like crazy but once past the hard and to the soft it was smooth sailing. But I'll tell you I am milk of mag and a glass of prune juice a day from here on out till I am regular again and all is healed. Cuz I dont want to go through that again.
So as it sure does feel great.
