ovarian cysts ~help!

Hi everybody,
I had my TAH except ovaries back in May. In the last couple of months, I've started swelling and cramping really badly. It seems to be localized over my ovaries, especially the right one. He removed cysts off of both during my hysterectomy. What is the treatment for this if the cysts are back? Do I have to go on birth control to shrink them?

I am going through the same thing you are and have another post started as well. Cysts found after TAH.

I had my surgery only 4 weeks ago though. Been getting intense pains as well. I went to my MD on monday, ultrasound tuesday and they said I have 2 medium sized cysts on my right ovary. My doc told me I have to go on birth control then after 4 weeks go for another ultrasound to check them out again. That is all I know for now.

I know exactly how you feel. I feel very frustrated. Excited for my original TAH, because I was looking forward to feeling better and not have pain anymore but it still exists, yes healing pain is there, but the ovary pain is the worst!

If you do go on birth control I do hope it works for you!!!!! Hopefully you are pain free soon. Also, I am getting a CA-125 test done very soon(this week) if you haven't had one of these, very highly recommend.

Back in Sept. 2006 I had a cyst that they drained and did an ablation. They watched it for a year and I grew 2 more cysts on my ovary. They suggested my ovaries to come out as well as a hysterectomy. Sept. 11, 2007 I did just that. I hear that birth control pills can help. I hope you get some relief instead of going to surgery again. Ovarian cancer runs in my family that why they suggested I get mine out. I didn't have any pain with my cysts. Trying to regulate my hormones now is kind of tough. I hope you get a good solution.
