LAVH stitches not dissolved 9 1/2 weeks

I had LAVH 9 1/2 weeks ago. Dr. insisted no post-op exam was needed at all! Finally at 9 weeks I called because I was having bleeding problems. Mostly at the end of the day and after going to the bathroom. Doctor's partner finally checked and said stitches had not dissolved and were very long and actually poking into my insides and causing the bleeding and a lot of irritation. She cut them which hurt terribly and then put some mustard looking stuff up there which has been draining out for a week. Said not to "put anything up there" for 2 weeks. Have others had this? Is that silver nitrate. Said no follow up was needed unless I have more bleeding.

Although I didn't have silver nitrate it sounds like it could have been.

My doctor saw me at 4 weeks but didn't do an internal. She wanted to see my incisions and asked me questions on how I was feeling. She did an internal at 6 weeks and said everything was healed and I didn't need to come back until my year exam unless I had a problem.

I never heard of no internal at all.
