Almost 6 Weeks Post-op

Hi Everyone-
Well I am almost 6 weeks post-op and feeling great. I went to the doctor last week and she gave me some incredible information. When I was scheduled for my hysterectomy, she asked if I wanted to keep my cervix or if I wanted her to remove that as well. I opted to remove it...so not to worry about Cervical Cancer down the line. Well the pathology on the Cervix came back and I had a Cavernous Hemangioma of my cervix. This is one of the most rare things that they could have found...only 50 know cases so far to date. It in essence was a tumor in my cervix that was causing all the bleeding. So if I had gone ahead with the hysterectomy without having my cervix removed, I would have had to had another surgery to remove the cervix. I really lucked out!! And my doctor was excited because she could do a case study and a whole report on me. Finding this in someone was so rare...my doctor is going to be famous!!!
Good Luck to everyone else who is recovering. It is a long road, but so worth it. I would have had my period four times already. My blood levels are back to normal, and my iron levels are great!! I feel like a million bucks!!!

Have a great week everyone...and continue to recover!!!
