4 days post op from hysterectomy (LAVH) - no bowel movement

I'm 4 days post op and I'm feeling fine, but I haven't had a bowel movement yet, is this normal. I've been taking Miralax and Colace every morning and I'm even drinking prune juice, nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?? Or should I call my doctor??

I had my first one 5th day post op. Everyone is different, I was just taking stool softners and drinking apple juice. And it didn't hurt I just sat there and let it come out.

Some gals are a week or more before they have a bm. Eat well, drink buckets and take the stool softeners..... try a short walk after you eat to get things moving. A couple laps around the house or to the mail box.... It'll happen

I had my first BM 4 days after my surgery. I took Colace for 2 days before it worked but once it started working, it was great! You can take up to 3 at a time of the Colace instead of taking it one at a time 3 times a day. That's what worked for me lol. Don't panic....some women go even longer with no BM but if it concerns you, call your doctor.

Thanks girls for your responses, it finally happened last night. So relieved, never thought I would be so happy to have a bm.
