Re: Trying to Stay Positive/ Fighting The Fear

I keep telling myself that everything will go well and this surgery is done all the time and is normally not life threatening. The stories and posts on this website help also. When I go to bed I use my heating pad and read which occupies my mind until I get sleepy and can go to sleep. I also keep thinking of having no pain afterwards or at least the pain that I have will go away and I will be able to use the bathroom like normal and no more periods.

Wish everyone the best luck and hope you have a great recovery or are recovering well now.

Re: Trying to Stay Positive/ Fighting The Fear

I envision being in the hospital after the surgery, getting out of bed the first time and walking the halls. I listen to monks chatting or ocean sounds to help calm me. But the craziest thing that relaxes me -- Kung Fu Panda movies. Have no idea why! Any time I need to calm myself, I play either of the movies, turn the sound so I just barely have to strain to hear it. I then close my ears and just listen then I drift off to sleep.

Diva gila and lovelylady--I live in central Ohio also, 10 mins south of the outerbelt.
