Blister on incision site-2 weeks post op

Today, I noticed a blister on my belly button incision site. It is right on top of the incision....I looks like it might have liquid in it, but I can't tell if pus, water, or blood. It doesn't hurt and it isn't red around the blister. Other than that, the incision looks like it was/is healing nicely.

Two things- has anyone had this? If so, what was it? I'm so scared it could be staph or mrsa or something else bad.....could it be normal? The second question- my two week appointment is Tuesday. Should I call the doctor tomorrow morning? Or just wait 1 extra day and go as planned on Tuesday?

Thanks!

Hi Melanie, I would give the doctor a call. S/he will let you know if you should come in or if you'll be able to wait until tomorrow for your appointment. It will give you piece of mind.

Lots of (((HUGS))) to you

This May or may not be the same thing I've dealt with, but I've had a separation of my incision and have been packing it two to three times daily for almost 6 weeks. I would definitely call your doc to see if you can get in a little early. Packing it isn't so bad. Mine wasn't red, no fever either, and one morning I woke up and it was leaking. My doc told me that the fluid in my abdomen found a weakness in the incision and used it as an escape route. Better to be safe than sorry. Keep us posted.
