Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
How did it turn out for those who have recently had surgery for the Adeno. How are you feeling now?

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Glad it's over. Glad I did it. I'm in my 4th week and just now on my second day with no pain so far, only energy.

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
I'm a month post op, and I could tell right away that, aside from the surgical pain, the symptoms I was having were gone!

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
I am so happy I had a hysterectomy. I had severe adeno for 2 years before building up the courage to have surgery. I didn't have children yet and was hoping for a miracle. I didn't get the miracle but finally reached the point where I couldn't put the surgery off anymore. I am sooooo happy to be this side of my hysterectomy. My periods used to knock me out so bad I missed a week of life every month. It has been wonderful to be able to make plans without checking the calendar! Plus, my health has improved so much.
Having a hysterectomy is a big deal and not to be taken lightly and I second guessed myself all the way into the operating room, but I am not second guessing myself at all now. It was definitely the right decision.
Good luck with yours! May God be with you and may you experience a wonderfully healthy New Year!
Cindy

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
I didn't have my surgery because of the adenomyosis. I didn't even know what that was till after my surgery and then wondered what it was since my path report had that on it. I thought that I was peri menopausal and had no problems. I have had a feeling like I had a knife in my right hip for about 9 or so years and I had gut problems and lower back pain. I have had sporatic periods for the past couple of years, normal for my age, right.
Well I was post menopausal and the bleeding was a symptom of my hyperplasia(precancerous) and not periods. My hip pain is gone since the surgery and so is my back pain. I asked my dr if it was from the adeno and he said it might have been, time will tell. I feel great and haven't had pain pills for over 2 weeks. I had the surgery 3 weeks ago today but I do have a very high pain threshold. Hope this helps.

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Fuzzot, thank you for your post. . . besides the pelvic pain I have been having alot of GI problems recently and I've been thinking they are due to the adeno. Your post has given me hope. . .
So glad to hear you are feeling great and doing so well!

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
Even with the whole recovery pain, I felt so much better than I had been feeling. I was in constant agony by the time I had my LSH.

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
I hear ya, Ali. I've had constant pelvic pain since October 25th. Surgery pain will be nothing compared to this agony. Just 7 more days and counting! I'm glad you are doing better!

Question for post-op adenomyosis patients
11 weeks out and I am so happy to have a surgeon that listened to me and followed through. This week I think I would have had my period since i still have the monthly breast tenderness(which is so doable) BUT nothing else! No pain, cramping, nausea, praying I dont OD on Midol, searching for my therma care or tampons or pads!!!! The only reason my heating pad is still used is to help the soreness and swelling from going back to work.

Oh, me too! Isn't that wild? I had my last period but didn't know it was my last period - once we made the decision to have the hyst, my surgeon got me in as soon as possible. Considering that my life has more or less been controlled by my period for so long, it's really strange...
