41/2 months and still discharge??????

LAVH October 12th 2005. I thought by now I would pretty much be back to normal, but wearing pads still to protect my undies is a pain. Is this normal, should I be worried?

41/2 months and still discharge??????

Dear diddy,
I had my TVH in June 2005 and I am still having a slightly bloddy discharge. I was told by my new gyn( old one not taking it seriously) that the bleeding should have stopped by 3 months at the latest. I was relieved to find out that the bleeding was most likely from my vaginal cuff not healing properly and the fact that I still had granulation tissue 8 months out. I highly recommend, based on what I was told, that you schedule an appointment with the dr. who operated to get to the reason for the continued bleeding. I do not want to scare you but I think you should, especially since I wish someone had told me. If they try to tell you it is normal, it is not and get a new doctor. If it is treated promptly you can avoid further treatment. I am now seeing a specialist and am going in for a dx laparoscopy on 3/6/2006 to repair what has not healed and to fix what needs to be fixed. I wish you luck in getting help but please see someone ASAP for peace of mind as well as treatment. Again, good luck. Take care. Tami S in Florida

41/2 months and still discharge??????

I had my surgery (left the cervix) on 12/16/05 and still have discharge too! I almost feel like I am wet all the time---at first I think that it was some urine (had a bladder suspension too), but now think that whatever is coming out is something else. Seeing my dr. next week again, to ask. When I saw him last, he said that vaginal discharge, so long as it is not bloody, is no big deal and still normal from the healing process. I hate it!

41/2 months and still discharge??????

Hi diddy

at your stage of recovery, discharge that has colour should be checked by your doctor. As Tami said, it could be granulation that can be easily treated in your doctor's office.

Give his office a call and let us know what happens.

41/2 months and still discharge??????

Ugh! I am not happy to hear this! I had LAVH five weeks ago today and I am sick of this discharge and the smell with it, no matter how much I change the pad, it is driving me a bit nuts. I know I could have a lot worse problems and should be glad this is all it is but I want this part to be done!

41/2 months and still discharge??????

I am 4 months post and finally (knock on wood) seem to be finished with the godawful discharge. I kept having a light tan discharge with odor, went back to my gyn last week. she gave me metrogel for bacterial vaginitis (no granulation tissue which is what i thought it was). I took the metrogel for 5 days and now, for the first time, no discharge. she also told me that some little discharge (not colored or with odor) is normal because of the hormonal changes and the fact that my body is still producing estrogen (one ovary left). I'm supposed to call if the odor or colored discharge comes back. Anyway, seems like forever that this has been going on, but at least that horrible smell is gone. Still wearing panty shields just in case, but so far, so good.
Best of luck - I hope you get some answers, and it goes away soon!
