Pre-OP for June 21 surgery(longer..)

[
COLOR=Indigo]Hi Ladies!

What a week! On Tuesday I had my pre-op w/ my

OBGYN, and then to the hospital 4 tests. 1.5 hours

all together. Only took blood-no X rays or anything else

physically-but did ask all the usual pre-surgical questions.

Then, I fly down to Florida w/ my 15 y/o son the

next morning(Wednesday) to take him to his dad's for

the summer, and to see my parents and grandparents

before I turn around and fly back Friday afternoon

(today!). BUT,Tuesday afternoon my molar that has a

crown on it decides it feels like it might want to get a

root canal(out of nowhere), and a bunion I have on my

right foot decided to make a fuss like a spoiled rotten

child and turn hot -red and throbbing stiff(again, out of

nowhere)!So- here I was Tuesday night (1am) freaking

out 'cause I hate flying anyway, and now I have to deal

w/ pain at both ends of my body, and I can't take

anything but Tylenol(hahahah...)I was worried about

taking any Advil Liqid Caps(the ONLY thing that helps

me w/ these types of pains) because my Plastic

surgeon's directions were very clear about no 'Advil for

two weeks prior and two post surgery'(I'm having a

tummy-tuck w my TAH).

Well... the pain won out. I took the Advils and was

good to go Wednesday morning for the dreaded flight

to FL. I had to take it a couple more times that day,

but then the swelling in both my foot and mouth(sounds

like a disease, huh?) went down enough that it was very

manageable... BUT had to do the mad scramble to get

my dentist involved now. Have a root canal scheduled

first thing this Monday morning, but was worried that it

would negate me being able to get my surgery done on

Wednedsday. After a few phone calls from Florida this

morning I was told by both surgeons that I should be

fine, it doesn't matter that I am having a root canal

(actually, my tooth is FINE now...geezz), and I

apparently didn't ingest enough Advil to make that

much of a difference( I sure hope so!)

Bottom line...I need a nap. Between the anemia, the

pre surgery nerves, the flying nerves, the family -

in-Florida nerves, the 4Day Long Wedding this [past

weekend(don't ask), the 98 degree weather

here in Memphis, the house and lawn work

nerves,

the tooth and root canal nerves, and the "I can't walk

now, my

foot just went bonkers" nerves..Whew..(and I'm

only 38!)-I'm worn out from worry!

BUT On the flip side- I now have a few days alone w/

husband before surgery w/ no child around!

Getting ready for next week is easy now! I'll be back on

when my nerves get weird before Wednesday!

thanks everyone for listening to me go on like that!

All I can say is WOW! I got tired just reading your post!

Good luck on your surgery. Hopefully, it will be completly uneventful. (Oh, and if you are looking for a reason why the swelling happened, it's because of the flying-- it's what the body does to compensate for the pressurized cabin.)

Elk Queen~~~~~ I used to fly several times a month for several years in a row( thats why I hate it now)~ and I ALWAYS felt like I was bloated when I flew as opposed to maybe the months that I didn't fly as much! I knew it!

(But sadly~~~I bloat now because of other things as well; namely my uterus...)

Thank you everyone! ( sorry for the way my post looks above~~~I don't know what I did or didn't do to make it so condensed!
