Perineoplasty? (warning: graphic question)

Good morning sisters!

Here's my question of the day: My doc has me down for a perineoplasty, which basically is to tighten things up down there that got stretched out during childbirth. She told me that I would probably be more sore from that then from the TVH.

Has anyone here had this done? Hubby is all set to not have her do this procedure feeling that I will probably enjoy sex less afterward due to being too tight. I realize that I'll be sore for a while and not enthusiastic about sex, but once everything has healed will I still have discomfort with intercourse?

I know that hubby will be able to enjoy sex more with me tighter than I am now, but he doesn't want me to do anything that may cause discomfort for me during sex.

I'm hoping that some sisters could tell me about their experience with this and help me decide if I should go through with it or not.
